Founded in 2022, the company was previously known as Airbus HAPS Connectivity Solutions Limited until January 2023. AALTO operates independently while leveraging the support of Airbus, utilizing Microsoft Dynamics 365 to enhance its operational capabilities. The company's flagship product is the Zephyr High Altitude Platform Station (HAPS), a solar-powered stratospheric aircraft. Zephyr provides two main services: high-resolution earth observation from above 60,000 feet and direct-to-device connectivity. It features a steerable optical camera that can cover large areas with high detail and can operate continuously for months, making it ideal for various applications. AALTO serves multiple sectors, including mobile networks, civil government, and defense, and has secured significant partnerships, including a $100 million investment from a consortium of Japanese businesses.
